Values, Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility: Insights from the Moroccan Context
This study examines how values, ethics and corporate social responsibility (CSR) are understood and practiced within the Moroccan context. Drawing on a contextualization study based on qualitative interviews with Moroccan sociologists, university professors and CSR practitioners, the research explores the cultural and institutional factors that shape ethical perceptions and CSR practices in Morocco. The findings reveal tensions between traditional values and modern economic dynamics, as well as a behavioral duality in which collective norms coexist with individual interests. The study also proposes a contextualized definition of ethics in the Moroccan context and highlights how these ethical perceptions influence CSR commitment within organizations. Finally, the research contributes to the literature by showing how local cultural dynamics shape CSR practices in emerging economies.
