11. INVESTIGATING THE ROLE OF LEADERSHIP IN SHAPING EMPLOYEE OUTCOMES: THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
In light of the recent global health crisis, organizational performance became an important concern to organizations across industries. Organizations faced unprecedented challenges that shifted their focus towards their most valuable asset: their employees. The crisis raised great concern for employee outcomes which led managers to recognize its significance in leading organizations to success. To this point, it is imperative to understand the factors that influence employee outcomes in the workplace. Our model investigates the impact of transformational and transactional leadership on employee attitudes (job satisfaction and organizational commitment) and behaviors (turnover intention) in the Moroccan IT industry. Moreover, our study examines how environmental uncertainty moderates the relationship between leadership styles and employee outcomes. The foundation of our research is built upon the Contingency theory. By addressing theoretical limitations and emphasizing the importance of situational factors, our study offers practical applications in adapting leadership to uncertain, evolving environments.
