5. SUSTAINABLE SUPPLY CHAIN PERFORMANCE EVALUATION MODELS: A LITERATURE REVIEW
The growing need for sustainability has stimulated significant academic attention to evaluating sustainable supply chain performance. Despite ongoing discourse in the field, which remains fragmented, there is no consensus on a comprehensive, multidimensional assessment framework. This research emphasizes the importance of performance assessment in promoting sustainability and improving supply chain performance. The review examines relevant research articles to provide a comprehensive understanding of the current state of the field. The study categorizes the predominant SSCP evaluation models by sustainability coverage, application, methodology, and shortcomings. Findings indicate that social indicators remain underrepresented relative to economic and environmental metrics, due to measurement difficulties and the absence of standardized instruments. The analysis also highlighted the lack of a unified framework that takes into consideration sustainability aspects and the sensitivity of various contexts. However, to address this gap, the study suggested integrating digital technologies and combining complementary methodologies to enhance SSCP assessment in the future. This review offers a structured foundation for a robust and inclusive SSCP and contributes to both academic and managerial practices.
